A Day Dedicated to Industrial Innovation

Meeting companies, discovering their latest innovations, understanding the changes taking place in the transport sector: these were the goals of the “Engineers of tomorrow and the industry of the future” day. From the start of the 2023 academic year, it was offered to all students on the 3 campuses. A great way to start the year, immersing yourself in the wealth of opportunities in the transport and new mobility industry.

Innovations in the Spotlight

More than thirty of the School’s partner companies were on hand to meet ESTACA students. They presented a range of demonstrators, projects, products and/or systems implemented to support environmental, digital and societal changes in the transport sector.

They included the Boston Dynamics robot dog used by the RATP to access confined areas, Renault’s intelligent route planner for electric vehicles, a new-generation submarine model, military support innovations from Dassault Aviation, augmented reality and a fully automated Claas tractor.

Through these projects, students were able to enhance their view of tomorrow’s engineering profession, to understand what interests them and prepare their career plans.

An Exchange Opportunity for Students...

All the students were able to meet and exchange ideas with the companies present through stands, meetings and conferences. The day was an ideal opportunity for companies and students to meet. Here’s what they say about it:

Marie Savariau is a 2nd-year student in the automotive program: “This was a day rich in encounters, discoveries of companies and trades that I would never have thought of. We had access to innovations in ecological transition, a subject close to my heart. I was able to find out about sought-after profiles, as well as internship and career opportunities.”

The companies present appreciated the opportunity to meet students in a setting different from the usual career days. They also discovered passionate students eager to discover new developments in the industry. Some testimonials:

In Laval, the day continued with a major event bringing together local companies: the Universités des Entrepreneurs Mayennais on the theme “Dare to Dare?!” Jointly organized by the Mayenne Chamber of Commerce and Industry, MEDEF Mayenne and ESTACA, the event attracted 1,300 attendees, including 250 ESTACA students.

After an introduction by Jean-Michel Durepaire, Managing Director of ESTACA, and presentations of the Vision’R project by the association Flying West and of its new Volta! project by the association ITD, inspiring and motivating speeches were given by the companies.
