New training chair on “Autonomous Vehicles” with Renault and Bertrandt
ESTACA, Renault and Bertrandt have officially launched a teaching chair devoted to driverless vehicles.
The aim is to support the development of professional skills in the automotive industry in the field of driverless and connected vehicle technologies. Each year, twenty or so “high potential” professionals join a 1,200-hour program over three years, leading to an engineering degree.
To create content for the Vehicle, Autonomous and Connected Systems engineering program, ESTACA received the support of Renault and Bertrandt, signatories of the chair, as well as PSA Group, Faurecia, FEV, Valeo, Plastic Omnium, Segula technology, Moveo and the VEDECOM (Decarbonated and Communicating Vehicle) Institute for Energy Transition. They jointly designed the course content, so that it corresponds to the real needs of the automotive industry and enables the skills required to develop driverless vehicles to be acquired over the coming years.
This program, offered as a sandwich course, for the moment as part of continuing education, includes 1,200 hours of classes, spread over three years. It covers the following subjects: Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data, machine learning, and cyber security. It leads to an engineering degree, accredited by the CTI (Commission des Titres d’Ingénieur).
The main job opportunities identified at the end of the course cover all the new professions in future vehicle engineering and associated services. Graduates will be able to work on innovative projects in companies in the transport and mobility sector in France and abroad. The first class started School in September 2019.
