Five innovative vehicles presented by students
EstaCars, the 1st French electric single-seater participating in the international Formula Student competition was on display. This event brings together around 100 student teams from schools and universities around the world to test their skills in a variety of static and track events.
The ESTACA Formula Team, taking part in the competition, presented its high-performance and energy-efficient single-seater racing car, inspired by professional Formula 1 cars.
The PV3e association presented its energy efficient vehicle which takes part every year in the Shell Eco-Marathon, a leading competition focusing on optimizing energy. The aim is to cover as many kilometres as possible on the equivalent of just one litre of petrol.
The association iDrogen exhibited its hydrogen fuel cell vehicle, a technological innovation created by the students to compete in the Shell Eco-Marathon.
The association ITD (Initiation à la Technique et au Développement) has been working for 3 years on electrifying a Buggy, an all-terrain SSV to take part in rally-raids. Their goal: to compete in these demanding races with an electric SSV. The team will take part in the “Baja Portalegre 500” rally-raid in Portugal from 25 to 30 October 2022 and plans to take part in the Africa Eco Race, a 20-day African off-road rally from Monaco to Dakar.
A golden opportunity to meet partners and promote projects
In total, a hundred or so potential partners left their contact details on the ESTACA stand to develop partnerships with the School, recruit interns and engineers, put in place academic projects or sponsor associative projects. They were all impressed by the commitment and passion of ESTACA students for developing innovative vehicles and helping to renew the transport technologies of tomorrow.
At the traditional ESTACA cocktail party on the stand, Arnaud Marfurt and Luc Marbach from the ESTACA Executive Board and Jean-Michel Durepaire, General Manager, had the pleasure of welcoming alumni and partner companies to exchange ideas in a friendly atmosphere and discover the School’s projects and student associations.
Among the many visitors, Olivier Dussopt, French Minister of Labour, Full Employment and Integration came to discuss the Autonomous and Connected Vehicle Systems apprenticeship training with our students and chatted with all the students representing the various projects on display. The Minister was welcomed to the show by Luc Chatel, President of the PFA – Automotive Platform, Claude CHAM, President of the FIEV and Luc MARBACH, President of the Société des Ingénieurs de l’Automobile and member of the ESTACA board.
Roland Lescure, Minister Delegate to the Minister of the Economy, Finance and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty, in charge of Industry, also visited the ESTACA stand. He spoke at length with the students and even got into some of the vehicles.
Finally, the Paris Motor Show was also an opportunity to remind the public that engineers have a place in engineering schools and in companies in the automotive sector. As part of its partnership with the association “Elles Bougent”, high school girls visited the ESTACA stand to meet and chat with our students about engineering training and careers in the automotive sector.
